Light breeze delays start of racing

Emirates Team New Zealand operations manager Kevin Shoebridge and team meteorologist Roger Badham – also known as Clouds – discuss today’s weather forecast.

 

And at 8am it wasn’t looking great for racing to start on time on the first day of the Louis Vuitton Trophy Auckland regatta.

 

Light winds came in as predicted and the race yachts were held at the dock for an hour beyond the scheduled 9.45am departure.

 

From the water Clouds said he was expecting a start by noon, as a north-east breeze showed signs of becoming established.
